Our Story, a little bit about ourselves:

Allow me to introduce myself and my husband, Harry. My name is MaryLou, and I have owned miniature smooth dachshunds since 1994. I have a deep passion and love for this breed. My dachshund story first began with a puppy named Benny. Benny was my children's first dog who we loved for 15 years. Some years down the road when Benny crossed over the rainbow bridge, we found Max and MoJo, also commonly known as the "Max and MoJo show" who were both great additions to our family. Approximately, 6 months later, we received a call from their breeder requesting me to take in a special needs puppy for her. She had an extremely shy boy named Lee who needed a good home where he would be safe and feel loved. We affectionately renamed him MarLee to match our name theme. We had the 3 boys for many years while raising our children. Unfortunately, dogs do not live forever. They all had wonderful lives running in the yard and traveling with us on family vacations.

Upon purchasing our 1st show prospect "Joy" we began our new endeavor. While seeking a sport to engage in, my mentor and breeder of Joy, suggested that we try conformation, which is the sport of showing and the judging of dogs against their written standard. Joy and I began our journey and started attending show handling classes to learn together. After several months of training, a well-respected judge who was teaching my handling class suggested we enter into a match at Wilmington Kennel Club. We did and Joy won Best of Breed against many other puppies in the hound group!  The same teacher, who has also become a mentor to me told us to enter Joy into an AKC Conformation show. The 1st show we entered in was a very large specialty show in Philadelphia where Joy received her 1st major win. Well, we were hooked! I continued to show Joy and now she is a Grand Champion working towards her bronze title.

We now wanted another pup to show and found a beautiful little boy with an excellent pedigree. I flew to Washington state to purchase our boy, Wyatt. My husband Harry was still planning on watching me show both of our dogs in the ring, but little puppy man Wyatt claimed Harry day 1! With very little training they started racking up points and majors. He became a Champion just 3 days after his 1st birthday. Harry and Wyatt make a great team! Wyatt is currently working on his Grand Champion title. He will have a very impressive show career.

Since we are planning on breeding my Grand girl Joy, we decided to seek another female for our breeding program with our Champion Wyatt. I had such a wonderful experience with my breeder of Joy, and she had the perfect pedigree match for our Wyatt. We purchased our 3rd show prospect, DejaVu. We are currently getting this little princess in the show ring. So far, she already has a few points at only 9 months. She is the youngest up I have shown in the ring. We are very proud of this little girl.

We are planning a breeding in the fall of 2024 along with my Majesdach mentor with the hopes of breeding another outstanding show dog of our own. Our plan is with each generation to continue to better the breed with this lovely pedigree!
